I’m Jeanetta. As an artist and blogger I find inspiration in nature and nostalgia. My paintings and illustrations grow out of a love of my garden and the natural beauty around me combined with a compulsive habit of collecting old and abandoned items. I believe that some of our strongest feelings are stirred by the awe of nature and the connection to our past.

“Pick up the Pieces”
This was a solid piece of salvaged fence board. It has been split, divided, burned, and carved. The small painted tiles serve as patches of regrowth and healing. The brass rods resemble the Japanese gold mending technique of Kintsugi making it stronger than before.

This piece can be seen during the month of June at The Central AR Collective Gallery in The Studio Downtown. 1100 Oak Street, Conway, Arkansas.
