Guess what 7.10.15

For ages now I’ve been meaning to put together a reoccurring post that would just let you know about all the really cool things I see or read or find.  One of those world wide web round ups.  So here goes.

Periscope

It’s kind of my new favorite thing.  Periscope is a live broadcasting app.  Come follow me and you’ll see tours of my garden or a walk through of the farmers market or anything else I might happen to see.  I feel like Periscope is putting the social back in social media because its so spontaneous and of the moment and your audience can ask you questions and join in the conversation in real time.  I’m not great at it and I don’t have a ton of people watching but still I love this new form of interaction.  I’m even doing a session on it for the Arkansas Women Bloggers Conference at the end of August.  So I better get to practicing!

Yarn

One of my best friends opened a real live yarn store here in town.  Cyndi aka The Twisted Purl is now a brick and mortar store.  I’m so proud of her.  She’s worked so hard building her brand and she’s a great addition to the downtown community.  If you’re a yarn-a-holic like we are, go give her a visit.

British Television Mysteries

I gorge myself on British Mystery shows on Netflix.  I’ve worked through all 15 seasons of Midsommer Murders.  I’m actually rewatching them.  And i was super excited last week when the third season of Death in Paradise came available.  I’m currently watching season 4 on Saturday nights on my local PBS channel.  I also watch Father Brown.  He’s sort of like a British Father Dowling (if you’re old enough to remember that series) set in the 1950’s.  If you have any other recommendations let me know.

Now you know what!

I love round-ups. Thanks for sharing. My week back from vacation has been crazy at work so I haven’t gotten a chance to get over to The Twisted Purl but I am looking forward to it.

Great. I’m slightly addicted to it. I still don’t have an up to date camera or a great connection but I figure going through the motions helps. I’m really enjoying watching the tours of the UK and Japan.

Oh thank you. I know the quality is a bit pixelated but I hope the content is entertaining.
