I love old cookbooks. Especially old cookbooks with canning and preserving recipes.
This one I dug out of the donation pile when I worked at the library.
The squash makes a nice pickle and is a good substitute for cucumbers for any pickle type recipes. We had a bumper crop of summer squash this year and I was really ready to try some new canning recipes. I had also failed to plant cucumber this year. So you learn to use what is on hand.
