doldrums

that’s where i feel like i have been some days. stuck in the doldrums. especially concerning blogging. its like staring at that pile of clothes that wont wash itself…… which i happen to be doing right now. i would get on the computer, check all of those lovely blogs of yours out there and even comment from time to time, but totally ignore the the place in my favorites list that would take me to blogger’s dashboard to write anything.

after thanksgiving the overwhelmingness started again. and really i don’t have that much to do its just that most of the time i have so many ideas going in my head its hard to focus and get started on one thing. so i will start something than think about something else and move to it and get another idea and before i know it the house is an even bigger mess with 4-5 half finished projects laying about. don’t even get me started on the house work.

and i really hate that i haven’t posted anything about all of my projects. i;m forgetting to take pictures or to upload them and edit them. i made some wonderful aprons for the holiday open house at the shoppe last sunday. but forgot my camera. and half sold…. which was good. 🙂 but its hard to photograph then. lol. you can catch a glimpse of one from this pic form jerusalem’s pictures. and here is the sign i made for my sister and brother in law for christmas.

we had david’s 9th birthday party on saturday too. i went for very low key. only family and close friends. i just couldn’t handle a house full of kids i had never met from school this year. but due to some unforeseen circumstances there weren’t quite as many as david was used to and that got him down. but we talked and he got to feeling better about it. that and the fact that his dad turned the swing set into a pirate ship.

yes you heard me right. a pirate ship.
see jerusalem and i doing what we do best….. supervising. 🙂

in olden days people used to build alters as they traveled from place to place. we have the uncanny knack for building elaborate play set where we go.

david with the awesome banner made by guess who….. ummm ignore the cluttered breakfast bar too.

and the easiest cake ever….. who doesn’t love krispi kremes?

once again doing what we do best, well this is actually another talent, that of drinking coffee and looking at magazines. hmmm mom seemed to have captured a great side…. our back sides! oh yeah thanks mom for all the pics.

oh yeah and if college doesn’t work out there is always the circus.

WOW. I have a fear of power tools, and am always in awe of people who can create stuff like that on a whim! Y’all built a freakin’ PIRATE SHIP! (and, of course, I say “y’all”… because proper supervision is absolutely essential to any well-done job). Kudos, my friend. Kudos.

What an awesome pirate ship and I LOVE the cake idea. I’m there with you in the doldrums thing. For a little while I had such a great Christmas spirit but right now I just can’t seem to get anything going. Thankfully the shopping is done and the house is decorated. Speaking of houses- yeah right about the cluttered breakfast bar- you need to see mine (you really can’t see it- HA!)Sarah

I am WAY jealous of that birthday – pirate ship AND krispy kreme cake? You’ll get out of your slump in time – don’t fret. You look like you were doing some amazing supervising, by the way. 🙂

  4. Goodness, a krispy kreme cake and a pirate ship?!? What a creative family. 🙂Once I get myself together, I’m taking a pic of Bailey’s cute cupcake and will link to you if that’s ok! 🙂 It makes me smile when I see it on her shelf. I’m easy to please. 😉

I felt the same way over blogging and ended up taking a whole month off before I straightened things out in my mind. But I don’t do so many pictures anymore and I don’t feel guilty if I don’t post every day. I just do what I can do when I feel like doing it. And it’s going much better. And I LOVE Krispy Kremes, but we don’t have them here…. Looks like you had a great party. Great memories!
