Feed Your Creative Spirit

If you’ve talked to me for any length of time, you will get me on my soap box about how I feel that every being is creative. I made a whole YouTube video about it (back when I spent time making videos). But it’s a subject I am really passionate about and want to encourage you more in that area. So you will see me recommend content from time to time that has fostered a deeper understanding of my own creative spirit and that I feel will do the same for you.

Below you will find anything from art supplies to books and anything that I feel enables creativity. Most of the following are affiliate links and I do get a commission from them at no extra cost to you. They have all inspired or facilitate my creative spirit and I think they could do the same for you.

Books and Audiobooks

I love to read but I do experience most of these titles through audiobooks via Audible or Libby (my local library’s digital option – can we say FREE!) When I sit down with a book I find it very hard to put it down and there are all these pesky things like sleep, dirty dishes, and making art that get in the way.  So audiobooks have been my favorite thing to listen to while I still get things done.

The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin

Yes, That Rick Rubin. Def Jam Recordings, Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and LL Cool J.
This book really help me realize how much my creativity is tied to my spiritual practice. I listened to it on Audible but plan to to buy the actual book because I have underlining I want to do. That’s how much I loved it!
